IFT delegations are participating in the work of competition committees and OECD digital economy 

• This year, Mexico was one of the ten countries that submitted before the respective committee, its annual report results in terms of economic competition

In order to participate in the activities of the Competition and Digital Economy of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) committees that were conducted, respectively, during the weeks of June 15^th to 20^th, and from 22^th to 23^th, delegations of the Federal Telecommunications Institute (Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones, IFT) attended the headquarters in the city of Paris, France.

Within the meeting of the Competition Committee, the Head of the Unit of Economic Competition, Georgina Santiago Gatica, presented the 2014 Annual Report on competition in the telecommunications and broadcasting sector. In her speech, the official explained the more relevant cases about competition attended by the Institute during the previous year.

Moreover, in the various meetings of the Committee, the IFT referred to the use of market studies for the design of the regulatory framework for the sector, as well as innovation in the institutional design that is present in to the Organic Statute that the Plenary approved last year.

For his part, Commissioner Mario Rangel Fromow participated in the 69^th meeting of the Committee on digital economy policy (Comité sobre política de economía digital, CDEP), in which he serves as Vice Chairman of the Working group of infrastructure policies and communication services (WP-CISP). Besides taking part in the discussion on topics such as digital convergence and the Internet of things, the Commissioner participated in preparations for the 2016 ministerial meeting of the Committee which will be held in our country.

Through these activities in an international forum of great importance, the IFT, both in character of sectoral competition authority, and the regulator of telecommunications and broadcasting, participates in exchanges of information on issues relevant to their work and relating to international best practices.
