The IFT launches its new website with Internet accessibility features and upgrades for information searching 

 

• Performs a makeover and incorporates improvements in their seaworthiness to maximize the users search experience of information

• Provides tools for people with disabilities to access the content, as the international standard "W3C AA"

 

From this day, the Federal Telecommunications Institute (Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones, IFT) put into operation its new website (www.ift.org.mx), which offers a new look that incorporates tools for faster searching of information and accessibility features for persons with disabilities.

The development of the new site conforms to the international standard "W3C AA"1, which ensures that people with disabilities can navigate it using the keypad, can increase or decrease the size of fonts and lets them to listen to the reading of texts through accessibility tools devices.

In this way, users with disabilities can access all images, graphics and elements through the interpretation or content description.

It also features responsive web design, i.e., it allows to tailor the content to the screen size and it is possible to consult it from any browser and device.

In order to find information or documents more quickly and easily, a search engine that offers the ability to search through filters such as keywords, date, title or content type was developed.

For the architecture of the website, the different profiles of users and visitors of it were considered, maximizing the user experience when browsing, besides presenting the topics of greatest interest for the public, this will facilitate the search for information and interaction of different audiences with IFT.

This new website ensures compliance with regulations on transparency and the provisions of the Constitutional Reform in broadcasting and telecommunications, with regard to providing accessibility features for people with disabilities.
