IFT take part of the Mexico representation in the XXV Permanent Advisory Committee II Meeting (CCP.II) of CITEL in Medellin

 

• The delegation aims to strengthen the position of Mexico to ensure the availability of spectrum resources for network deployment of radio services which meet the needs of connectivity in the region

 

From February 23 to 27, the XXV Meeting of the Permanent Consultative Committee II is carried out: Radio (CCP.II) of the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (Comisión Interamericana de Telecomunicaciones, CITEL), in Medellin, Colombia, is attending a delegation of the Federal Telecommunications Institute (Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones, IFT).

This forum aims to coordinate the positions of the countries in our hemisphere regarding the topics to be defined at the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), to be held next November and whose primary purpose is to review and amend the Radio Regulation, which is the leading treaty of the international allocation of frequencies.

The IFT group that participates in the meeting of CCP.II is headed by the General Director of Spectrum Planning, Fernando Carrillo Valderrábano, who in turn holds the vice presidency of plenary scheduled meetings of the Committee.

The delegation aims to strengthen the position of Mexico in terms of ensuring the availability of spectrum resources that enable the deployment of networks of radio services, making it possible to meet the needs of connectivity in the region.
