Who?

Manufacturers, traders or users of telecommunications or broadcasting equipment.


When or in what cases?

When the products, equipment, devices or apparatus used for telecommunications and broadcasting purposes can be connected to a telecommunications network or use the radio spectrum, and the standardized equipment is subject to a technical structural or technical configuration modification that does not substantially alter its functions or interactions with the network or the radio spectrum and maintains conformity with the standards under which it was originally standardized.

Option 1.- By a free form document.

Option 2.- Using the HOM 1 Guide and the HOM 2 Guide (both Guides are optional).

In any case, it shall be submitted before the Filing Office of the Federal Telecommunications Institute.

While a specific format for this procedure, published in the Federal Official Gazette, does not exist, the Federal Telecommunications Institute makes HOM 1 and HOM 2 Guides available to the requester, which are not mandatory but the requester may use any of those to file this request.

- The Technical Specifications, endorsed by a Telecommunications Expert, shall include: description of the equipment’s functionality, equipment’s picture, block or electric diagram, equipment’s technical characteristics in working conditions, its network connection, applicable standards, conformity analysis and technical opinion indicating that the equipment complies with applicable standards.

 

- Only the documents shall be delivered in originals and their addenda in simple copy, in one copy. In case of requiring acknowledgment of receipt, a copy of the document shall be attached for this purpose.
