Public or social use concession holders who request it.


When or in what cases?

Within the previous year to the beginning of the last fifth portion of the validity of the corresponding concession, provided that it is in compliance with its obligations in terms of the Ley Federal de Telecomunicaciones y Radiodifusión and other applicable stipulations, and accepts in advance the new conditions that may be established.

Legal basis:

Article 15 of the Ley Federal de Procedimiento Administrativo.

In case of a favorable decision: an extension of radio spectrum concession for public or social use will be granted for a term of up to 15 years; an extension of orbital resources concession of public or social use will be granted for a term of up to 20 years; and an extension of unique concession for public or social use for a term of up to 30 years.

 

In case of an unfavorable decision, it will be notified to the interested party at the address indicated for such purpose.

A. 180 business days in the case of a unique concession, radio spectrum concession or orbital resources concession when no public interest in the recovery of the radio spectrum or orbital resources is present.

B. 1 year, when public interest in the recovery of the radio spectrum or orbital resources is present.

Amount

Extension of spectrum or orbital resources concession: $13,791.53 (thirteen thousand seven hundred ninety-one pesos 53/100 MXN).

Extension of unique concession: $8,241.22 (eight thousand two hundred forty-one pesos 22/100 MXN).

Both cases will be free of charge when the service is related to social community and indigenous use.

The Federal Telecommunications Institute will take into account that the concessionaire made its request within the previous year to the beginning of the last fifth portion of the validity of the concession; is up to date with its obligations established by Law and other applicable stipulations, as well as its concession title, and accepts in advance the new conditions that may be established.
