Who?

Concessionaires of broadcasted television.


When or in what cases?

When they desire to request the assignment of a virtual channel different from that currently assigned, in accordance with article 6 of the General Guidelines for the Assignment of  Broadcasted Television Virtual Channels

Article 15 of the Ley Federal de Proceso Administrativo.

Article 10 of the Lineamientos Generales para la Asignación de Canales Virtuales de Televisión Radiodifundida.

In case of a favorable decision by the Federal Telecommunications Institute, the assignment of the requested virtual channel will be authorized.

In case of an unfavorable decision by the Federal Telecommunications Institute, the interested party will be notified at the address indicated for such purpose. 

The resolution, response or decision issued by the Federal Telecommunications Institute is valid for the same term as the concession title of the applicant.

In case the maximum response term has concluded and Federal Telecommunications Institute has not issued any decision, opinion or notice related to the filed request, the decision shall be understood in a negative sense. In accordance with the stipulations of article 17 of the Ley Federal de Proceso Administrativo.

The Federal Telecommunications Institute will publish the list of assigned Virtual Channels and those planned for future assignments in its Website; therefore, available channels which may be requested for assignment will be known, by exclusion.   The listing will be update each time a Virtual Channel is assigned, modified or suspended. 

In case of requiring the corresponding receipt acknowledgment, a copy of the request shall be delivered.
